If you think your community would support having these kits distributed to patients at your hospital(s), these are the steps to take:
- *Become a Between Us Representative in your area* - Are you a nurse who would like daytime hours? Are you a survivor who learned the corporate world isn't for you? Preferred qualifications: Thriving survivor who believes in our work, good people skills, imagination and flexibility! Contact Mary for further information.
- E-mail us with the interest and the population base of breast cancer patients. This way we can check to see if we are already doing something near you.
- Connect us with a receptive health care provider. We can provide references from our pilot projects in other states.
- We'll call them and try to schedule a screening in your community or hospital where we will come and show the documentary as well as show the kit and its contents.
- We'll work with your community to underwrite the cost of the kits so that they can be given free to patients.
- We will supervise on-sight assembly of the kits, working with support groups and survivors in your community, adding local components to the kit if desired.
- We will also work with local media to generate publicity for your local hospitals and/or sponsors.
- If you are interested in making Between Us happen in your community or hospital, e-mail your mailing address to us and letting us know what you'd like to accomplish.
You love the concept, but after approaching your hospital foundation, Ladies Auxiliary, local businesses, and private donors, you are not able to provide these kits to your patients. Write us a letter explaining how many you would use per year if we had a corporate underwriter at no cost to you. We can not make any promises, but we will use your letters when approaching national sponsors. |
